The Unsung Heroines of the Civil War will be the topic for discussion on Saturday, May 7 beginning at 2 p.m. at the Colts Neck branch of the Monmouth County Library, 1 Winthrop Drive.
Martin Mosho, a Civil War expert and retired instructor at Mercer County Community College will give a one hour presentation on the role of women during the Civil War. The little known accomplishments of women on both sides during the War will be explored, ranging from the heroic roles they played as volunteers, nurses, administrators, spies, and in some cases, combatants. Because of the culture of the ear, Mosho points out the heroines never received the notice and acclaim they deserved for their efforts/
Seating is limited for the event, so guests are urged to remember seating is on a first come, first served basis.
