Saint Mary’s Parish October Happenings

Blessing of the Animals – October 4 at 5:45 p.m.

Bring your favorite pets to be blessed to the Meditation Garden in front of the St. Francis of Assisi statue. Leashes and carriers are suggested, since there is usually a good turnout of furry creatures.

St. Mary’s Martha Mary Guild’s “Triple Treat”

It’s Halloween time! St. Mary’s Martha Mary Guild is offering a “Triple Treat” for the October 12 meeting. The first “treat” is the induction of new members and the recommitment of current members, with Deacon Vincent Rinaldi presiding. This ceremony will be held in the Spiritual Center chapel at 7:00 p.m.  Then everyone will go into Madonna Hall for the “culinary treat,” which is a potluck supper. There will be a variety of wonderful dishes, which the members contribute. The third “treat” is a fun fashion show of items that members purchased at their clothing sale in September. Please note: Everyone is invited to pray the rosary in the chapel at 6:30 p.m.

Halloween Halls – October 22, following the 5:00 p.m. Mass

Children attend Mass in costume, then parade to trick or treat from rooms and tables set up in the parish buildings.

All Saints Day Vigil Mass (Holy Day of Obligation)

We celebrate the feast of all the unknown saints who are now in heaven, and are reminded that sanctity is within everyone’s reach. Vigil Mass at 7:00 p.m. on October 31, Mass at 9:00 a.m. on November 1, and All Souls Day Mass at 9:00 a.m. on November 2.
