RIVER PLAZA STUDENTS RAISE WHOPPING $14,300 FOR HEART HEALTH; RANK #1 IN MIDDLETOWN

This spring, the students of River Plaza Elementary collected a record-breaking $14,301 during their Jump Rope for Heart event, earning more than any other Middletown school.  The annual event promotes physical fitness and heart health through activities like jumping rope, while raising funds for the American Heart Association. Under the direction of physical education teacher Jennifer Turiello, the children jumped at the chance to make a difference and help other kids suffering from heart-related illness.

The top River Plaza student fundraisers were first grader Jackson Burke ($735) and second graders Beau Servidio ($641) and Reid Tully ($500).  “I am so proud of all the students and their families for making us #1 for the second year in a row!” added Ms. Turiello.
