Programs and Events at the Middletown Township Public Library for Children, Tweens, and Families

The Middletown 350 Celebration continues! November is Time-Travel Month at the Middletown Township Public Library, with programs for kids, tweens, and teens. The READ20 Reading Rewards program begins November 1. Middletown Township Public Library invites readers and pre-readers ages 0-18 years to take the READ20 pledge and join the reading rewards program! Visit for complete details.

Simply Story Time will be held on November 13 at 10:30 a.m., November 21 at 3 p.m., and November 18 at 6:30 p.m. Gather in the Children’s Program Room for some story time fun! Pre-registration is required at All ages.

NaNoWriMO will be held on Tuesdays in November (4, 11, 18, and 25) at 4 p.m. in the Computer Lab. It’s National Novel Writing Month. Your goal: Write an entire novel in one month or…create your own goal! It’s up to you. Come to the library to work on your novel or any other piece of writing. There will be writing prompts and a creative atmosphere to get your ideas flowing. This program is for tweens ages 9-12.

Kids Play Group will be held November 3, 14, and 18 at 10:30 a.m. Caregivers can explore hands-on activities with their child and discover the importance of play. Drop in — all ages welcome!

My First Cooking Class is scheduled for November 12 at 4 p.m. for ages 2-6. This is an early cooking class for preschoolers and kindergartners, offering a safe experience (no sharp knives, no heat) making “food you can really eat.” Dress for mess! Space is limited.

So You Want to be a Chef? will be held on November 19 at 2:30 p.m., with cooking basics for tweens (ages 9-12) with Miss Ellie! We’ll make an autumn-themed food item. Space is limited.

Meet the Masters: Chasing Degas is scheduled for November 20 at 3 p.m. for grades K and up. Set your creativity loose as we discover the beauty and movement of the Master Degas!

Special Sunday Family Event: “Cinderella” presented by Paper Moon Puppet Theatre and the Middletown Township Public Library on November 16 at 2:30 p.m. Ages 4 and up. A very special puppet show, based on the original tale written by Charles Perrault tales. There is an interactive pre-show with the audience, and audience members will be invited to see behind the scenes and to ask questions after the show. No registration required. Seating is on a first come/first served basis for first 100 attendees.

Yoga for Kids will be held on November 15 at 10 a.m. for ages 5 and up. Saturday morning yoga for kids! Not your Mom’s yoga – this class will incorporate games, props, stories, music, and more! Please bring your own yoga mat or a beach towel.

Black Friday Free Family Event on November 28 from 1 to 4 p.m. All ages. Celebrate family bonding with free family fun. Gather up all your visiting relatives from in and out of town, and head over to the library for a G-rated movie on the big screen, snacks, and takeaway activities. No registration required.
