Mental Health Association of Monmouth County to Host Annual Fall Celebration Metamorphosis: A Transformation

The Mental Health Association of Monmouth County (MHAMC) will host its Annual Fall Celebration at Taka on Thursday, November 3, 2016. This is a major event that MHAMC hosts every year to highlight its mission of promoting mental health and wellness and improving the care and treatment of persons affected by mental illness. Proceeds will go to support the free mental health services that the organization offers to individuals and families in Monmouth County.

This year’s event, Metamorphosis, is a celebration of transformation. The theme symbolizes changing perspectives to transform lives. The inspiration behind the theme is three-fold: to celebrate the individual’s transformation from diagnosis to treatment through healing; to show that those who support MHAMC in its’ mission play an important part in helping to change and improve people’s lives; and from an advocacy perspective, changing the way we, as a community, look at mental illness as a chronic disease just as any other chronic disease.  In addition, this year’s theme drives home the ongoing advocacy efforts to remove the stigma so often associated with mental illness.

The event will feature Asian Fusion cuisine hors d’oeuvres, food stations, sake tasting, live entertainment, and an Origami Experience presented by the famed NYC based Taro’s Origami Studio. Metamorphosis will begin at 7:00 PM at Taka, located at 660 Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park, NJ. Tickets purchased before October 17, 2016 will be sold at $100. Take advantage of this offer before ticket prices increase to $125.
