Diorama Contest Based on Your Favorite Book – April 14-May 14: Create a Marshmallow Peeps scene! Two categories: grades 4-7, grades 8-12. Peeps are available at the Children’s Desk or use your own. Bring your plastic wrapped box display to the Children’s Desk. Independent juried judging May 19-31st. Limited to 20 participants.

Screen Free Week! May 5-11

             Community Outreach Concert – Sunday, May 4th at 3 p.m.: Featuring the NJSYO Chamber Group & the Preparatory Strings Orchestra. The NJSYO promotes the study of classical music and traditional orchestral training for children grades 2-12.

             Star Gazing Event – Monday, May 5th at 7:30 p.m.: Presented by S.T.A.R. Astronomy Group. Professional telescopes are supplied by S.T.A.R. for excellent sky viewing. It’s a great way to spend time with family while learning a new science.

             Family Game Night – Tuesday, May 6th: No pre-registration required. Drop in for crafts and puzzles anytime in May.

Magical, Musical, Me – Friday, May 16th at 10 a.m.: Join us for this fun and interactive music and movement experience while playing different musical instruments. Children ages 2-5.

Books, Blocks, and More! – Wednesday, May 28th at 10 a.m.: Sharing, taking turns, listening! Children ages 2-5 will develop these skills and discover the library’s newest picture books.

Meet the Masters – Thursday, May 29th at  4-4:45 p.m.: Classic Art for Classy Kids! Join us as we celebrate the culmination of our Meet the Masters series for the first part of 2014. Expand your mind in a fun and creative atmosphere.
