Historic Christ Church in Shrewsbury invites all to the Annual Colonial Bazaar to be held on Saturday, November 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This always popular event just got even more exciting, with some new attractions. Visitors will be greeted by a town crier and mingle with characters dressed in colonial clothing. There will be Bake Shoppe treats for the first 70 shoppers and an hourly doll raffle.
The colonial theme shopping bazaar includes high value auction baskets and a trinkets and treasures section. Delights can be found in Ye Olde Bake Shoppe and Ye Olde Shrewsbury Kitchen. There is a 50/50, Calendar Cash Out, Moravian Pie, plus a wreath, poinsettia and greenery shop, and no trip would be complete without a stop by the Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe.
There will be a Holiday Bazaar Preview Night on Wednesday, November 9 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with wine and cheese, plus door prizes. Tickets for the Bazaar Preview Night are $10.
Coming Friday, December 2 is the equally popular Christmas Lantern Tour, as costumed characters lead you through a tour of this historic property. You will enjoy a complimentary hot beverage, and you can join in the silent auction or buy goodies at the Ye Olde Bake Shoppe. A tasty Moravian Chicken Pie dinner will also be available. There are two tours, at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m., and tickets are $20 for adults and $8 for children. Call the church at (732) 741-2220 for tickets and do it quickly, as this event always sells out.
