Staten Island meets New Jersey – and we couldn’t be more excited.
Alissa Rose and Regina Tuzzo are the incredibly savvy owners of Salon Six Eight Five in Shrewsbury. The grand opening was held on Dec. 1, where Shrewsbury Mayor Donald Burden cut the ribbon surrounded by salon employees – and, of course, Champagne. Rose and Tuzzo, who commute each day from their Staten Island homes, have extensive background in the beauty industry.
Tuzzo, with 17 years experience, has freelanced for the acclaimed Ford Modeling Agency and worked with Bridal magazine. She’s also a certified extensions specialist. Rose, with 20 years experience behind the chair , is a certified Peter Coppola keratin specialist who has extensive training with Sebastian, Wella and Schwarzkopf product lines. Both ladies specialize in color and cuts, using only high-end luxury brands including Wella and Redken.
Why the move to Shrewsbury? For Tuzzo and Rose the answer is simple: empowerment. As full time working mothers – both have sets of twins – they know how hard it can be to find time for personal indulgence. That’s why they fell in love with Shrewsbury, a family-oriented area filled with busy women on the go who deserve a little “me time.”
They plan on giving back to the community that has openly embraced their new venture and look forward to making many new friends along the way. Salon 685 is located at 685 Broad St., Shrewsbury.
