HOLMDEL — Enjoy some family fun outdoors while experiencing 1890s rural farm life as the Monmouth County Park System celebrates their annual Harvest Home Festival. This oldfashioned country fair allows visitors to experience a time when neighbors gathered not only to accomplish work, but also to spend time enjoying each other’s company. Harvest Home Festival will be held on Sunday, September 29 from 11:00am to 5:00pm at Historic Longstreet Farm on

Home & Garden Competition

If you’ve grown a beautiful, large tomato or bake a fabulous pie, join in the spirit of the festival by entering one of the competitions! Details of the Home & Garden-style contest are available on the Harvest Home Festival page under the “Activities” section of our website at www.monmouthcountyparks.com for entries in the following categories:

• Fresh Vegetables (largest tomato, pumpkin, or winter squash)

• Canning (fruits, vegetables)

• Condiments (butter, jams, jellies, pickles/relishes)

• Baked Goods (biscuits/donuts, bread/rolls, cakes, cookies/brownies, muffins, pies)

• Needlework (cross stitch, embroidery, knitting/crochet, quilting, rug hooking/braiding)
