The Colts Neck Reformed Church, a welcoming and affirming congregation of the Reformed Church in America, welcomes you to come and be refreshed by the Word of God, times of prayer and praise, and the community of God’s people. The 9:15 a.m. Sunday worship service coordinates with the church school educational opportunities for three-year-olds through seventh grade. This service contains a Gospel for Children. Professional nursery care for infants and toddlers is provided at both the 9:15 and 11:00 a.m. worship services, which are simulcast in a family room where parents can bring infants and toddlers. Both services contain the same sermon, hymns, prayers and special music.
Saturday, December 24 – There are five Christmas Eve worship opportunities in which we share in the joy that “This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” (Luke 2:12) The Good News is that Jesus Christ is Lord!
- The 1:00 p.m. service is a family service in which the message of Good News will be conveyed in an interactive way that is especially geared to children of all ages. This service will be in the sanctuary.
- The 3:00 p.m. service will be held in Fellowship Hall, upstairs at the brick building behind the white sanctuary building. (There’s an elevator available at the far end of the building). This is a contemplative worship time that will center on hearing the nativity story, sharing the sacrament of communion, and singing “Silent Night” with the lighting of candles.
- The three Christmas Eve evening worship opportunities (4:00, 7:00, and 9:00 p.m.) will be in the sanctuary and are traditional Christmas Eve services with carols and candles. Music will be offered by the Celebration Ringers and Jubilation! choir at 4:00 p.m. and nursery care will be available. The Exultation Ringers, Senior Choir and instrumentalists will offer music at 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. Nursery care is available during the 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. worship services.
December 25 – As part of our Sunday worship (one service at 11:00 a.m.), you are invited to bring any bell that makes a “jingle” to help ring in the Good News of Christ’s birth. Keep your bells muffled as you enter the Sanctuary, then near the close of the service we will join in ringing and singing “Joy to the World” in an acclamation of praise and joy. Bring those bells so together we can proclaim that Jesus Christ is born!
Worship on January 1 – There will be one service on New Year’s Day at 11:00 a.m. There will be a Gospel for Children, but no church school. This is an ideal opportunity for families to share in the sacrament of communion together. Start off 2017 in the best way possible, by worshipping God with your church family!
