Celebrate the dog days of summer over Labor Day weekend at the 2014 Colts Neck Pet Fair!
The purpose of the pet fair is to raise money for Make a Wish of New Jersey and The Monmouth County SPCA. Dozens of rescue groups have also been invited to set up booths to talk to people about their rescues, and to bring animals that are up for adoption. The pet fair will have dozens of wonderful animals looking for a loving home, and plenty of vendors offering a wide variety of pet-related merchandise. There will be a blood drive, as well, with a bloodmobile from The Blood Center of New Jersey on hand from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. This amazing event will benefit animals and sick children in need throughout the state of New Jersey
The pet fair will be held Saturday, August 30 and Sunday, August 31 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bucks Mill Recreation Area, 137 Bucks Mill Road in Colts Neck. The weekend events will include dock diving trials and practice, lure coursing trials and practice, agility, box racing, cat agility, jousting tournaments (with the jousting company in full medieval garb), bird shows, musical acts, dog mazes, petting zoo, 4-H pony rides, and much more. A large turnout is expected, with thousands of attendees each day. The Fireside Grill and Bar in Marlboro will be catering the event.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors age 65 and over, $5 for children age 12 and under, and free for children under age 5. Dogs of all ages are free; additional fees may be required if you elect to enter your dog in selected canine performance events.
