Colts Neck PBA Steak & Smoke Fundraiser

On June 9, The Colts Neck PBA Local 333 hosted their second annual Steak and Smoke fundraiser. And for the second year in a row, the CNPD had more than cooperative weather as they welcomed the community for a gorgeous evening filled with pitchers of beer, fine cigars, endless servings of steak, and the simple pleasure of good company.

Much like last year, guests were excited to purchase and enter raffle tickets for the chance to win any of the enticing prizes donated by the many generous businesses in the area. This year’s selection definitely fit well with the crowd, as folks had to decide whether to put their tickets in for various prizes like cigar bundles and humidors, gun holsters, flat-screen TVs, and a massive crossbow. After everyone finished making their tough decision of casting the last of their tickets for the fancy wine mini-fridge or the technicolored light-up speakers, the cigar smoke began filling the air as everyone settled down at their tables and awaited the feast.  Of course, the dining experience started off with modest offerings of salad, but most stomachs were reserving space for the upcoming marathon of steak.

While the crowd alternated between sips of beer and bites of steak, Detective Richie Zarrillo took the microphone and thanked everyone for coming out again this year. From friends and family to prominent community members and fellow law enforcers, the support shown for the Colts Neck PBA doesn’t just equate to monetary value, but also emphasizes the appreciation for all the hard work the police department does for the community.

The funds raised at the event help the PBA assist in community activities, scholarships, and charities throughout the year. The PBA Local 333 wouldn’t be able to provide these services if it wasn’t for the sponsorship of the gracious local businesses.  Wellspring Stables was this year’s Gold Sponsor and the Silver Sponsors included Burk Family Agency, Colts Neck Associates, EIC Associates Construction, Laird & Company, and Route 46 Autos. The entire Colts Neck Police Department thanks the community for another great showing of support and hopes to see everyone back next year.
