Insectropolis: Bugs on the Go!
Monday, August 4 (10 a.m.-10:45 a.m. & 10:45 a.m.-11:30 a.m.)
This presentation by Insectropolis will feature live arthropods (Madagascar Hissing Cockroach, Giant Black African Millipede, Emperor Scorpion, And Chilean Rosehair Tarantula) and pinned specimens (including rainforest butterflies, giant stick bugs, colorful grasshoppers, and various exotic beetles). Participants will have the opportunity to view up close and touch with supervision.
Special “Meet the Author” Storytime: Sensational Summer Night
Friday, August 8 (10 a.m.-10:30 a.m.)
A chance for young children to meet a “real” author during an author visit developmentally geared to children entering pre-K through second grade. Christine Palazzo, the author of the science picture book “Oh, What a Sensational Summer Night,” will be conducting a special story time, complete with a reading of the book and a craft. Ms. Palazzo is a special education teacher, in addition to being an author.
Belford Engine Fire Company Visits!

Come meet out local firemen from Belford Engine Fire Company Station 3, who will be visiting with their truck. Bring your family and see the truck up close in our back parking lot. No registration required.
Jenkinson’s Aquarium: Penguin Pointers

Meet a live penguin and watch as it waddles around the room! This program clears up common
misconceptions about penguins as students learn about their biology, geography, care and feeding, and
conservation. Children ages 4 and up.
Flow Circus – End of Summer Reading Party

Fall, Balance and Spin: A Juggler’s Tale. Performer Paul Miller tells the story of one fateful summer when he first learns about physics. In this seemingly magical world where everything falls, balances, and spins, he defies gravity and discovers new skills. His journey begins with a single question that ultimately gets answered at the library.
Meet and Mingle for Teens and Tweens

Meet other teens and tweens transitioning into a new school! Going into sixth grade? Ninth grade? Or maybe you just moved here? Then join us for a little Meet and Mingle!
Fairy Houses and Gnome Homes
Tuesday, August 19 (4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.)
Children ages seven and up are welcome to explore nature and learn about Fairy Houses and Gnome Homes. These amazing creations are made from natural materials that you find in your own back yard or woods. We’ll share a story and create one for your own garden. Dress for mess, as we will use natural materials to create our masterpieces.
Summer Science Camp
Thursday, August 21 (3:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m.)
Teens from Middletown High School South will do hands-on science projects and games for ages 6-14. No registration required.
Teen Gaming Night
Monday, August 25 (7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.)
Bring your MAGIC cards, your Vanguard, your Yugi-oh (or whatever other card games you enjoy), yourself, and your friends to play with other teens who enjoy gaming. Feel free to bring any other games you enjoy, be it cards, board games, or computer games (and if so, bring your own device). We will have some board games available for playing, too. Essentially, if you like any kind of gaming – come to Teen Gaming Night!
