The Rumson Education Foundation (REF) is taking you back to the glittering Great Gatsby era at their annual Celebration for Education fundraiser, set for Saturday, November 19 from 7:00 to 11:30 p.m. at the Rumson Country Club’s main clubhouse.
Come enjoy a sassy Speakeasy Casino Night party featuring blackjack, roulette, and craps tables along with open bar, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, live auction, silent auction, games, and prizes.
Since its inception, the REF has raised and granted over $2 million to fund innovative projects, initiatives, and equipment that enrich the curriculum and learning environment within the Rumson Public School District. This year, the REF is funding Phase I of the Innovation Classroom Initiative, a S.T.E.M.-based classroom created this summer in the Forrestdale Middle School that provides students with the setting to learn through collaboration, technology-based problem solving, and learning that emulates college and career performance in the 21st century.
The REF made an initial $63,000 grant in June to get the Innovation Classroom up and running in the Forrestdale Middle School. Phase II will include acquisition of additional technology, equipment, and furniture that will bring this project to an exciting completion.
