The three Middletown middle schools, in conjunction with Middletown 350, honored World War II veterans at Middletown Military Shout Out on the morning of May 24. The theme of this multi-faceted event was to “Remember, Educate, and Entertain,” culminating in an authentic World War II U.S.O. show performed by students from the Thorne, Bayshore, and Thompson Middle Schools.

Gift Auction on May 30 to Benefit the Blind
The New Jersey Blind Citizens Association (NJBCA) will be hosting the 9th Annual Gift Auction on Friday, May 30 from 6-11 p.m. at VFW Post #2179, 1 Veterans Lane, Port Monmouth. Seat Belt Enforcement and Education Campaign in Holmdel Part of National Initiative
Law enforcement officers from the Holmdel Township Police Department are cracking down on unbuckled motorists and their passengers as part of the national “Click it or Ticket” campaign.
Beginning May 19 and running through June 5, the annual initiative includes high visibility law enforcement seat belt checkpoints and saturation patrols, as well as local and national publicity designed to ensure that drivers and passengers recognize the life-saving value of seat belts.
