Troop 290 had a great fall season this year. In October, their trip to the Pumpkin Chuckin’ Camporee at Quail Hill was a smash hit. Thanks to the creative minds of the scouts, they were able to build a four-foot-tall catapult and launch their pumpkin over 30 feet. In November, they went to the Navy Camporee and had a tour of the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, then went to the Navy football game.
The troop has finished their fall fundraiser sale of popcorn and wreaths. If you missed out on purchasing a wreath for this holiday season, please visit www.Troop290.com to check out their wreath brochure. Email email@example.com and they will be sure to call on you next fall. They also have their Mother’s Day flower sale coming up in the spring for all your planting needs.
In addition, the scouts made their way to the Saint Mary’s Church fall clean-up on November 19 to support the local church maintain its beauty. Lastly, Troop 290 also helped out at the Colts Neck Tree Lighting Ceremony by setting up Town Hall and helping with hot chocolate and munchkin distribution. In January, they are going to New York State for cabin camping at Winterburg, the frozen version of their summer camp, and then to the Shawnee Mountain to ski in February.
